Don't stay home all winter! Coastal Georgia offers excellent sight fishing for redfish all winter long. Check out Capt. Greg's sister site Golden Isles Fly Fishing for details on fly fishing and light tackle opportunities.

Coastal Georgia's scenic inshore rivers, tidal creeks and marshes surrounding St. Simons Island, Sea Island, Jekyll Island, Cumberland Island and Brunswick provide a beautiful backdrop for light tackle inshore fishing.

Popular species encountered while inshore fishing in the Golden Isles and Brunswick include spotted seatrout (speckled trout), red drum (redfish), flounder and sheepshead. Most species are caught using live bait and the traditional float rig although artificial baits can be just as productive and are a favorite with the intermediate to advanced angler.

Capt. Greg also specializes in sight casting with fly and soft plastics for Golden Isles redfish on the flats and shallow water creeks that make up the coastal Georgia "backcountry".
